Senior Pastor

Pastor Coleman is passionate about preaching verse-by-verse sermons that show God’s Word to be relevant for all of life. His desire for Houston Northeast is that God will showcase His presence and glory, through transformed lives, in undeniable and ever-increasing ways. He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before entering full-time ministry, he worked as an engineer for a private consulting firm in Houston. Coleman and his wife Jennifer were high school sweethearts. They married in 2007 and have four children (Josiah, Levi, Hannah & Judah). He enjoys anything sports-related and time in the woods or on the water.

Executive Pastor

Darrell is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the church, including managing the leadership team, the church budget, and churchwide programming. Additionally, he leads the Adults Ministry, Missions, and Membership. Darrell has been attending Houston Northeast since 2014 and was ordained as one of our pastors in 2022. He is currently enrolled at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary pursuing a Masters of Divinity (MDiv). Darrell became a Christian and was baptized at the Hamptons Christian & Missionary Alliance church in Water Mill, NY. He has a degree in Network Administration and was the IT Director for a nearby school district before joining the staff. Darrell was born in 1981. Darrell and Jennifer were married in 2019 at Houston Northeast.

Student Pastor

Justin is responsible for assisting with the shepherding of the entire congregation with a primary responsibility for Students and 18-23 year olds. He has been shepherding Houston Northeast since 2022. Justin became a Christian and was baptized while attending Lakeland Baptist Church in Lewisville, TX. Justin was ordained by Central Baptist Church in College Station, TX, where he served for four years as the male College Ministry Associate. Justin graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Leadership and earned his Masters of Divinity (MDiv) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Justin and Kendall were married in 2024 at Houston Northeast.

Northeast Kids Director

Kim is responsible for assisting with vision implementation churchwide, with a primary responsibility for infants to fifth grade. She has been a member of Houston Northeast since 2005 and has served in a variety of leadership roles in both the children’s and music ministries. Kim served as Director of the Early Childhood Center at Houston Northeast from 2011 - 2018 and then joined the general staff of Houston Northeast as the Children’s Associate from 2018 - 2023. Kim became a Christian and was baptized at the First Church of the Nazarene, Pasadena, Texas. She graduated from the University of Houston- Clear Lake with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. Kim worked in the public school system until she and her husband John started their family. Kim and John have been married for 33 years and have three daughters.

Northeast Students Director

Matheu is responsible for assisting with vision implementation churchwide, with a primary responsibility for 6-8th grade students. Matheu became a Christian and was baptized at Orange County First Assembly (formerly known as Orange County Worship Center). Matheu has been in ministry voluntarily for 8 years with different ministries and full-time at Houston Northeast since April of 2022. Matheu was born in 1996. Matheu and Abbey met on a mission trip in 2017 and married in 2020. Matheu enjoys bass fishing and golfing.
